Eeeee. I tried, I tried!
I have attempted studies of those lovely, plush, Baroque and Renaissance-era boys in the past, and JIM-MA-NEE are they difficult!

Yet again, my scanner refuses to scan my yellows - he is supposed to be blonde, not strawberry. I have tried adjusting colors in GIMP before, but no luck. Anyone have any advice?

Study from "Tomb of Lorenzo de' Medici" by Michelangelo Buonarroti. 1524-34.

I love, love, LOOOOOOOOVE the coloring in this: the soft gradients really match the style of renaissance painting! I also like the way you've carved his face; the proportions still need a little work (there nose, lips, and chin are too squeezed together) but he looks much more 3D and realistic than you ahd been drawing.

This is terrific work, congratulations! Wow, he really does look like a romantic Baroque male.

Thank you! I'm trying to improve to a point where I can start drawing appealing stylized males. Hopefully I'll upload more of my realism studies.
